Specialist Diploma in Professional Photography

This course is designed for students who aspire to become professional photographers and handle photography assignments or shoots right from marketing, business call, price negotiations, client interaction , communication, planning , execution of the shoot, image post production, and the delivery of the final images.

The highlight of the course is knowing the business side of Photography to become a successful Professional Photographer. This 15months course is designed to teach photography in vivid detail and with plenty of hands-on sessions and highly interactive classroom sessions.

The course empowers the learners to become masters in shooting a variety of assignments like great Portraits, Fashion,Products, and Weddings & events, Architecture Photography, Advertising Photography,including advanced Advanced Image Post processing techniques with ease.

Eligibility & Prerequisites: 

The learner should be passionate about photography. They must have an attitude to observe and learn quickly. Must possess a full frame DSLR/Mirrorless camera with 18mm to 200mm lenses, portable speed light flash, and a good laptop.

Suggested Camera models: Canon 5D Mark IV / Canon EOS R | Nikon D850 / Nikon Z7 | Sony α7R III

Minimum academic qualification: 10th Pass

Duration: 15 months (Tuesday to Friday)

Certification:

The certificate will be awarded to the learners who qualify the set standards of the  academy through the project modules.

Course Fee: Rs.3,00,000 + Tax (installment options available)

The fees includes: 

• Charges for using the Air Conditioned classrooms, studios and Library
• Charges for the using studio lights, modifiers, props and backgrounds, special lenses, accessories and equipment within the Ambitions 4 Photography Academy Premises only. 
• Models, make-up artist/hair stylist, faculty and other professionals for practical demo sessions only.

**The equipment, facilities used by the learner have to be returned in original condition. Damage to Academy property (equipment, furniture, etc) has to be paid for or replaced within one week.

Module 1: Basic skills (3 Months)

• Power of visual communication – Observation & communication.
• Learn to observe and create meaningful photographs.
• DSLRs & Portable flashes controls & usage.
• Technical aspects of photography: Aperture, shutter speed, and exposure controls
• Study the light. Understand the different sources of light.
• Composition – Understanding the principles of composition for making attractive and meaningful pictures.
• Learn to shoot a variety of subjects effectively.
• Shoot people: Learn to make great portraits in a range of scenarios and situations.
• Storage mediums, file formats – exposure – dynamic range – introduction to image editing – color – contrast –
  brightness – special effects etc.
• Image post-processing using Adobe Lightroom.

Module II: Advanced skills & Post Processing (3 Months)

• Studio lighting techniques: Understanding studio digital flashlights and accessories. Learn to take pictures
  in a controlled light environment.
• Studio Portrait lighting styles and correction techniques – outdoor portraits using studio flash.
• Fashion Photography – model / fashion portfolio shooting
• Flash photography understanding speed lights and their controls in detail
• Contemporary Candid Wedding / Event photography
• Use of professional flashes in weddings and locations.
• Image editing and Basic Album design
• Preparing and publishing the images for social media and print media

Module III: Specialization -1 (3 Months)

• Press photography & photojournalism
• Location photography – Architecture Interior & Exterior, Industrial Photography, Institutional Photography,
  Panorama, Creating HDR ,Perspective correction techniques
• Advanced Digital image editing – High-end image processing and  skin retouching, image compositing for
  Portraits Fashion photography and related techniques.

Module IV: Specialization -2 (3 Months)

• Still Life / Tabletop/ Product Photography (lighting for still life and product photography.) for
• E-commerce Photography
• Editorial
• Conceptual
• Advertising
• Shooting HDR, Focus stacking, Light stacking techniques
• Advanced Image Processing – Image Compositing, HDR, Focus stacking, Light stacking, Product Retouching

Module V: Specialization -3 (3 Months)

• Macro Photography – Controls and depth of field controls of Macro lenses. Use a macro lens for shooting a
  variety of subjects – Accessories for macro photography
• Action Photography – studio and Outdoor
• Conceptual Special effects Photography
• Photography as a freelance business
• Skill development for entrepreneurship & business
• Sales and marketing skills – digital marketing
• professional practice and business promotions,
• Professional and personal development
• Portfolio creation and management
• Career scopes and internship.

Project:

A detailed project covering the entire course curriculum for the relevant subjects has to be submitted.

Assessment:

The relevance of the Project to the learning process will be assessed by the Faculty concerned. This not only makes the learning complete but also motivates the learner.

Review:

A detailed one to one review will make the learning process complete. This makes the learner understand their strengths and limitations. The learners are guided according to their passion and strengths.

Certification:

On successful completion of the above process the certification will be Awarded to the learner to mark their achievement in the respective course.
