INFOCUS 2008 – Photography Exhibition

(By the students of Ambitions 4 Photography Academy – A Canon Pro-center)

‘Infocus’ is an annual photography exhibition by the students of Ambitions 4 Photography Academy (A Canon Pro-Center), Chennai. The aim and purpose of the exhibition is to showcase the fine art of seeing the world around. This is a sincere effort to contribute to the great Art called ‘photography’.

There were 150 pictures displayed in the Lalith Kala Akademy gallery, Chennai for five days from 30th June 2008. Most of the pictures showcased are by the students of ‘one year diploma in professional photography’ and others are from the students of weekend and short term courses. Though the theme is diversified, main focus is given to the following, Violations in every day life, Child labour, Global warming, Pollution, Lifestyle, People, Nature, Abstracts, Fashion and Still life. The exhibition was witnessed by more than 2000 visitors.

The event was inaugurated by Mr.Sharad Haksar, Ace Advertising Photographer. There was a unique seminar on wild life photography and conservation of nature and wild life by internationally renowned wild life film maker and conservationist, Mr.Shekar Dattatri on the last day of Infocus 2008. More than 200 photography enthusiasts participated in the seminar.

As a high light of the event, Mr.Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India, visited the exhibition and motivated the young photographers of Ambitions 4 Photography Academy, which is a Canon Pro-center – KL.Raja Ponsing

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

A one day basic digital photography workshop on 14th April 2008 by KL.Raja Ponsing is planned for the wedding photographers in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The workshop is organized by the Trichy district Photo and Videographers’ Association.

Canon Pro-Center now in AMBITIONS 4

Inauguration of Canon’s official digital photography training center – Canon Pro-Center in Chennai, at 5.00 pm on 17th February 2008, at the Ambitions 4 Photography Academy.

Ambitions 4 Photography Academy which has been training photography enthusiasts in basic and advanced level of photography through its various part time and full time courses/programmes for the past eight years has now become a ‘Canon Pro-center’ to train photographers and photo enthusiasts from across south India, through Canon’s various training programmes.

By this arrangement, anyone with the passion to learn the art and technique of digital photography will get the benefit of using digital cameras in the best possible way to make fine-looking photographs.

This official partnership will pave a way to organize quick/detailed workshops, competitions and exhibitions across South India for the benefit of anyone interested in photography.
